Scientists, biologists, naturalists and hobbyists all study insects. There comes a time when we want to take our knowledge just a little bit further. Collections can represent an insect type, ecological niche or a location. Placing specimens into a formal collection is a good way to have representatives available for continual study.
Insects have to be protected from pests and physical damage and the elements. Data about the specimen is all-important. How are these problems solved?
